99 civic si cat-back exhuast suggestion
Hey guy I currently run a Apexi N1 cat-back on my 99 supercharged si and after 5 years its starting to fall apart does anybody have any suggestions on a different cat back or should I stick with the N1?
Thanks

What part of the exhaust system is falling apart? I have the same exhaust, and the ends of my canister were rusting apart, so I just took it to a stainless-steel welder and welded a half-moon patch over it and everything was just fine. Saved a $$$ system is from the junk yard.
i guy i used to know had a apexi WS on a supercharged b16 and it sounded pretty tight... more for comfort and power than jsut power though its kind of a happy median

Is it on the muffler or pipe? If it's on the back of the muffler, it sounds exaclty like what happend to mine. Just get a stainless steel welder to make a half-moon shaped patch and weld it on. $60-$80. Easy fix. Hardest part is finding someone to do it.

i live up here in saltsconsin and i also had an apexi n1 and after 2 damn years my **** rusted out. all i did was cut the can off and put an extension on it. sounded almost the same and i didnt have to buy a whole damn exhaust.
There are a relatively limited number of off-the-shelf exhausts that are SS with 2.5" piping. Most are either 2.25" or 3" (in the case of US manufacturers), or 60mm (Japanese manufacturers). Your N1 is 60mm, so if that is working for you now, you can select from the great number of bolt-on systems with that size piping. You can narrow your choices by deciding what style of muffler you prefer, the noise level you want, and how much you'd like to spend.
I have the Apexi WS2 and it sounds awesome!!! But I am not boosted. If you want the loud sound, go with the N1... if you want drivability, go with the WS2. But I can notice a slight difference at redline with the WS2 exhaust... but I have a better E.T. when I put it on though. Straight through exhausts like the N1 helps get rid of exhaust gases faster, especially on boosted cars. The slight bit more exhaust pressure is ideal for N/A cars and a minute difference on the top end. Straight throughs sacrifice gas mileage too.
