EK with GSR swap question
I recently picked up a 96 gsr motor for my ek hatch. The question I have so far is: The swap came with the ecu and harness except the part of the harness that connects to the ecu then goes through the firewall, after this section it ends and goes off to the rest of the motor which I have. Question is can I use my stock non vtec firewall/ecu harness and connect to the vtec harness?
Thanks again for the help.

You can't use the integra harness in a civic... they're completely different (2 piece vs 1 piece). You have to use the harness for your chassis and adapt it to the engine. Your best bet in this case, since your original engine didn't have vtec, is to get an ex harness so you don't have to add wiring for vtec and knock sensor. Do a search, there's lots of info around. I have the 96 gsr motor in the hatch and I also have the ecu for the gsr motor too. Can I use my stock ecu through firewall harness and then connect the gsr harness to the motor?
just use what you can of your harness and then wire up the additional sensors, IAB, VTEC solenoid, VTEC pressure switch, knock, and you may have to convert to a 2 wire IACV if your car is auto or non-VTEC

sorry for adding to this posting but i'm in need of help too. in the middle of doing my 98 gsr swap into my 96 hb. using my stock harness. i had to cut off the connector plug for the civic iacv and use the stock gsr one. then i guess i cut off the orange plug to make it a 2 wire? yeah...
also, i had to change 2 or 3 other connectors on the stock civic harness for the connectors on the stock gsr one. seems like i'm missing 2 connector plugs on my stock civic harness. there's 2 more sensors that needs to be plugged. i think one of them may be the KNOCK sensor. its located on the back of the motor. the other one is located under the Intake manifold on a black box looking thing. can anyone help on this?

we just swapped a 94 LS motor today into a EG Si Hatch and we used the stock Integra harness. Just plugged right in. Does it matter what OBD it is? his motor runs fine. No cels or anything
ffsquad will be your best friend. just used your stock harness and than pin out the 3 wires for vtec pressure/solinoid. and knock sensor. and as far as the 2 wire IACV, i though that was different by OBD2 and 1. idk. its not to hard, just look at the diagram. everything is obd2a so you got lucky there.
