Default Clutch Problem SI

Hmm...something interesting happened...my car was warm enough for the vtec to kick in...floorin from 1st to 2nd gear my clutch slipped...i tried again n it slipped again..it was a very weird feeling...and it stopped doing it the 3rd time...anyone else with the same issues? could it be that cuz the car wasnt warm up enough?

What do you mean by sliped i am new to manual cars but ive had some similar issues with it being notchy here and there and a few 3rd gear pop out's. I always let the car warm to where oil temp is at the halfway mark then i can have fun you sure it isnt the DBW messing with your head ?

never had that one. i hate the DBW when the engine is cold. when u are just casually driving going from 1st to 2nd it bucks so damn much. never had any slips yet, but i have been trying to take it alot easier on the car lately.

yea DBW is annoying...lags like ****...maybe it was just a throttle lag...not a slip...but it's weird cuz i would think that it will have less lag when its cold cuz wires are cold thus less resistance...weird...

The drive by wire really effects things when its cold? What does it do?
I would say it would limit engine speed but that would be done by ignition or fuel cut.
Is it just slugish?

I guess you answered my question.
My guess is that the bearings or bushings or whatever are used are cold as well, thus slugish performance. I've hard the dbw is sometimes slow to respond anyway?

The DBW, which is actually a very responsive system, is still slower than direct cable because instead of 'foot stomps pedal, cable pulls throttle, car goes' its now, 'foot stomps pedal, computer figures out how much, computer opens throttle, car goes' That extra step IS noticeable.

Aside from that, no I havent had a clutch slip, my worst complaint is the 3rd gear pop-out... I figured if you just hold it in third gear it wont pop out tho... So in the mornings when I shift to 3rd I just hold it there.

That sounds like waranty work to me.
My parents have a new Toyota Sienna with drive by wire. I dont like it. Its like *stomp pedal.. wait.. go.*
As for the si, I dont know if its so much as you have to wait for the computer as wait for the actuation solinoid. I'm pretty sure the lag is programed into the Sienna though. Cant be having soccer moms doing burnouts now can we.
