Aftermarket camgears whirring. Bad?
So, recently I installed a set of Hayame camgears.
All good and well...they're still sitting at 0deg adjustment.
At the same time I cut out the side of my valve cover. So I can adjust them. And ofcourse look at them.
I have the Invidia G300 on my car, wich is LOUD. But day before I put the silencer back in. Now I noticed a whirring sound.
At first I thought my tranny was going bad. But after closer inspection, it's definately the camgears.
The belt looks fine. They don't seem to rub on anything. No burning smell or unusual heat. No wobble. Just that whirring noise. Sounds like a frickin supercharger.
Is this caused by the aftermarket gears? Or do all of them do this, but I just didn't notice until I opened up my valvecover?
What are your thoughts?

Last time i heard that on a customers car, we found out the gears had ever so slightly been rubbing on the inside of the gear and the head itself because they stuck in a bit further. We had to space them out just a couple mm's to fix the problem.

from the picture it looks like ur belt is grinding the camgears. look at it, look like some of ur camgear been eaten by the belt, maybe u tight it too tight?
how new is your water pump. the bearings in that could make a wiring noise. try using a long screwdriver and place the tip on the pump and put it handle up to you ear and listen.

How did you go about spacing them out? My TAS adjustable cam gears rubbed too so I had to ditch the plastic cover that sits hard up against the block.

I've had whirring noises before; they were all from the belts (timing, alt., p.s.) being overtightened or bad bearings. Not saying your cam gears aren't rubbing, I can't hear your motor from this far
