If you have a fresh battery and kept on trying to start it and start it. There is a SMALL possibility the battery could be dead. But the likelihood is small. The alternators job is simply to charge the battery. If the battery is fresh and the turnover is slow, its not the alternator. Push start the car in 2nd gear to rule out the alternator.
Check other areas like the suggestions above. It may be the starter.

Slow engine START?
START is the keyword! My bet is the starter or whatever else connected to it.. Check all the battery terminals, ground cables & connections to the starter.. Clean all corrosions.. If not, take out the starter & have someone look at it. Your from S.F.? I know a great place by 2200 Jerrold ave #k. I think the phone number is 415 282-4077

easy way to check alternator is disconnect battery positive side while running, if it dies then it needs a alternator, if runs then it is good.

Same thing happend to me, i have not had my car running for a while and kept it in my garage for two weeks with the alarm on. i try to start it and it would turn over slowley then give up and would just start clicking. I would say it's the battery. If you do want your alarm on all the time while your car is in the garage at least turn the car over once every day or two for a minute or so to keep the charge on the battery.

he did say he changed the battery, I don't think is the battery if he changed it. when's the last time you you changed spark plugs? check starter (my friend had the same problem on his lexus, it jus clicks and start after a few tries) but it should be similar on these type of technical problem)
