ODB-II to ODB-I conversion is all you'll need. Then you can purchase a longblock from hmotorsonline.com.

OBD2 to OBD1 wont do **** in this case, because he could run the y8 ecu. Heres the real info.

If you cant find another y8 for whatever reason and really want to go with a D15B VTEC then all you need to do is convert everything from your y8 (sensors, alt, dist, etc) onto the D15 and run the y8 ecu and your set. Its just a replacement engine.

Well expletive, he could run a P72 in it if he wanted to...

I'm just saying I would use the proper ECU, but yes, a Y8 ECU will work. Reason why I'd use an ODB-I harness is b/c with a D15B (ODB-I), he's gonna have connectors for the knock sensor and ****.

So even if you use the Y8 ECU I'd at least use a 92-95 EX harness...

Don't you agree?

This is completely untrue. D15's do not drop right into 98 ex's. I've sat there and watched as one got put in, and they had to swap over so many sensors, they swapped over the oil pump and timing covers, etc.

It's not a Y8 replacement ... at all.

96-00 are 1 part engine harness, and 92-95 are 2 part engine harness, so no it wont work.
