No, oil leaks like that aren't covered most of the time. I see it everyday. Even if its an after market warranty company.

Thats complete utter ****.

I think all of us ITR guys KNOW that our dipstick tubes are junk. Otherwise people wouldn't have to glue the damn things back, or have them pop out at high RPMS.

$120 to replace a tube casting thats worth maybe $5, thats complete utter **** too!

- I guess ill tell him to rip it out at night , its really accessible since he has aftermarket headers.... use some welding glue, and leave it overnight and see how it stays...

Acura cheerfully replaced mine under warranty and even honda bonded the replacement into the block. I was expecting them to just jam a new tube in there but was pleasantly surprised they bonded it in there to prevent future problems.

Search on "dipstick t00b"

Willard did an excellent write-up on repairing this minor issue at home.

Right Acura will, but 4 and 50k is over for R owners. Unless you have a good Acuracare policy or a really good aftermarket warranty it won't cover those kind of leaks.

PM user Chris F, he may have a few spare ones laying around. Don't ask why.
