Default Vtec controller

i just got it and i was told to set the crossover to your ITRS spec whats it set at?

cross overs 5800. If you dont have a type R, dont set it to its specs, you'll loose power unless your dyno tuning it.

all depends on the cams you run and motor specs but from personal expirance for anything 1.8-2.0L w/ R cams --->5100-5300rpm switch seems to work best! The more aggressive the cam the higher the vtec switchover.

having your VTEC come on @ 5100-5300RPM must have a vast improvement in the acceleration, or is it more prone to die off and looser power up top??

Messes up the powerband?

Until you get on a dyno with a compentent tuner - there is no "magic" setting to gain or lose horsepower.

On that note...Thanks to Asahi for flying to Topeka this weekend for a tuning session with a couple of us in the KC area.

It's amazing how fast and simple it can be IF the tuner knows what they are doing.
