noise in manual tranny
well today i was driving home and my car makes a funny noise it rattles in the tranny whenever i push in or let out the clutch. Someone told me it was the throwout bearing behind he flywheel so how hard is that to change? I have a 1994 honda civic vx hatchback that is fully stock
it is and its a bitch if u dont know what your doing. it requires opening up the trans.
either pay someone or live with it......... i did.

you have to separate the tranny from the engine in order to get to the throw out bearing, once you have done that all you do is lube up the new bearing and slide it on.
if you're going to do this i recomend having an engine hoist to hold the engine, it makes it sooooo much easier instead of using a jack to hold the engine
after you have installed the bearing you have to reattach the tranny which is a real pain; you are going to need two people for that
and the last thing, don't forget to bleed the clutch
good luck
