Default gutted catylitic converter

i have d15b vtec obd1, i keep getting a code 41 oxygen sensor heater, anyways i took down the exhaust to try to put a header on it and found out that i have a gutted catylitic converter can this cause a code 41, i swapped out my brand new oxygen sensor for a known good oxygen sensor and still code 41..i have a chipped p28 ecu from rywire and ecu jumper with vtec and 02 subharness so i know its not wired wrong..i checked all my wiring and its not rubbing or cut anywhere any help is appreciated

No, a gutted cat won't cause that code. If you've already tried a new O2 it's probably in the wiring. Try switching the two black wires at the O2. Also, make sure that you're clearing the ECU of codes by pulling the under-hood hazard fuse for 10 seconds...just in case you didn't know.

probably a stupid question, but did you reset the ecu after installing the new o2 sensor? I cant see how a gutted cat would affect this since it's after the o2 sensor.

edit-^^ beat me to it

are you using a 4 wire o2 sensor because i get the same code and i run my stock Si harness with a jumper to a p28. someone told me its because i am not using the 4 wire that is suppose to go with the motor.

another thing i believe when my ecu was chipped is that they used po8 maps to run the motor correctly but the po8 still utilizes a one wire o2? could he have used the po8 maps and made a 4 wire o2 sensor work correctly together. i have too many variables
