car cranks more before starting
Don't know if I should be worried or not, but lately I noticed that it takes probably about 3 cranks to start my car (B18b1) vs. just 1 crank before. Today when I started it cold after standing overnight the idle rpm was going up and down for a second and the car sounded like it wanted to die but then it starting idling normally. I turned it off, started it a little later, and it did it again a little but not as bad, and none at all any other time after that. Should I be worried?
Doubt there would be air, wouldn't there need to be a leak somewhere along the path of fuel for air to get in? Because I haven't seen/smelled any leaks. And my oil is new too, less than 1000 miles. Would an old battery do that? That's what I was leaning towards. Also, if it is the fuel pump going bad, how would I be able to test that? Would there be any signs I could see with a volt meter or would the problem be non-electric-related? If it is the problem, I have another stock pump laying around somewhere.
