Rebuilt GSR tranny or SI tranny
I am going 2 have 2 rebuild my tranny sometime since my syncros r bad in 3rd and 5th, so which should i do, rebuild my GSR tranny or buy a new/used SI tranny, i am meaning money for both rebuilding or the SI, not performance cuz i heard the SI is better, but which one would u do for the money??? and if n e one has a SI tranny for sale please tell me...TIA
SI all the way! my buddy did this on his gsr and the difference was amazing! need i remind you that the SI tranny has the same gear ratios as an ITR (minus LSD)?

money is not a factor, im wanting 2 know a range or guess on how much it would cost if n e H-T members work for honda or would know a price range for the SI tranny?? TIA...
Do the dealers sell used trannys?? cuz i wouldnt wanna buy one from a complete stranger, cuz i would have no idea what condition its in, ya know?
To buy new from the dealer your looking in $1,200-1,400. Used the going price seems to be in the $700 neighborhood

That would be a nice price for the Honda Si tranny...I might hit up the local Honda dealership this weekend and see what they quote. Went to the dealer last weekend to pickup my rings and asked what the prices would be for a GSR transmission...it was $2400 for a G3 and the G2 cable one was $2500.....ouch.

well now when i shift at 7600 from 2nd and put it in third it stopped grinding, but now when i shift at 7600 from 3rd to 4th it grinds, could this still be the syncros?? if so why would it stop in the gear it started in?? some people say it might be my master clutch cylinder or somethin like that, can someone please help me.. TIA...
i'm in a similar predicament, i definatedly want the si tranny for the gearing except it sucks for highway driving compared to the gsr, youre right about not knowing the condition of it but if you get a 99 or 00 you know it cant be that bad. One thing that you can consider if youre going to rebuild you gsr, is throwing in a final drive
