Default Paint Fade

For some wierd reason on my trunk i have this long spot in where my paint is faded but i dont know how it happened. One day it looks like new the next day its all iscolored. Only thing i can think of is some oil got on it from when i blew hte engine... But then it was all splatter. Ive tried wet/dry wax and whatnot and cant even make it go away.....

Anyone shead some light on this?

(heres what the cars paint looks like)

Wet sand and zip it with a high speed buff, if your not a body person geta shop to do it. That car looks hella mint, the pics are of no real justice though we need to see the acrual area clearly...
