my friend has a 04 EM2 and is wantin to run an engmine management... hes either lookin at the greddy emanage or hondata.. he doesnt really kno what to get so any help would be appreiciated..

also what obd code is his car??

 

It's obd2. If he has a D17, unless he's turboing it, I'd suggest not spending money on an ems or ecu. It's not going to help much.

Your only options are EManage from GReddy, or the AEM EMS.

The d17a2 runs off of OBD2b I believe.

Hondata does not make anything for us, so ou can eliminate that option right off. Unless ou have a K20 or K24, you are just out of luck for Hondata.

yea well if hondata doesnt make **** for yall then it really doesnt matter about the obd2 question...

he plans to boost in future and wants to kno which would best suit him the emanage or EMS

 

Why can't you run Hondata on a chipped p72 and get a obd2-obd1 harness

Because no other ECU than what came with our cars will work on the d17a2 motor. Nobody makes an ECU compatible with the parameters of the D17. There is no return fuel system on our cars, as well as a totally different EVAP and O2 setup as the GSR's and LS' that had the P72, TMK.

And besides, unless you want to wire the entire motor BY HAND, why worry about a conversion harness, because one is not commercially available for the D17.

And even if you DID wire it up yourself, with a chipped ECU. Think of how many hours it would take to tune properly. All for what? MAYBE 5 WHP?

No way you should think that it is worth doing. It is pointless.

They aren't gay, there is just no point in modifying an engine with money you can use to buy somehting better with.
