95 civic VX cracked manifold :( solution inside please discuss
well my stock manifold has cracked and I am very angry. So my solution is as follows. I plan on using a dx manifold along with the cat. My question is has anyone done this? Any adverse effects on it? I know I am going to have to extend my o2 sensor harness ( no big deal). But will it affect mpg ? I dont see why but just checking before I make a mess. Thanks
How bad of a crack? Cant you just run a quick bead over it to hold it for a while.
I dont think youll feel any downgrade to the dx manifold maybe a little more back pressure but nothing that will hurt you (unless you have a clogged cat.)

Well I recently did a smog check and the cat is almost done... So instead of trying to replace that utterly expensive cat I thought it would be easier to go with the bottom bolted cat and purchase one of those. Considerably cheaper and I have never had any cracking issues with those manifolds before... As for welding it . Sure it could be welded but I dont think that cat is very good anymore.

the location of the O2 sensor may cause issues. The P07 is setup so it's expecting the O2 to sit close to the engine, further away and you'll run richer which may be enough to cause problems.
I have a VX exhaust mani sitting here if you need one that isn't cracked.
