96 civic ex swap or NA or turbo
i have a question to everybody. i am kinda on a budget but i wantg to make my civic faster. Its got a d16y8 i was thinking of going all motor with nitrous or turbo. or even a motor swap. but what would be the cheapest and and for swaps for this civic what is needed
go to turbod16.com look around there, or homemadeturbo.com if you are looking for a cheap and easy way to turbo your car, that is going to get the most amount of power for the cheapest price tag
TURBO!!!! IS THE WAY TO GO ON A SINGLE CAM.....OVERALL PRETTY CHEAP FOR A BASIC SET UP AND WAY SAFER THAN NITROUS....I BLEW 2 MOTORS ON NITROUS...SINGLE CAMS SOUND BAD *** BOOSTED....I GOT AN EK 4 DOOR CUSTOM TURBO KIT .60 TRIM...I LOVE IT....BETTER THAN ANY DUAL CAM SET UP
swap it. i have the same thing, i had a turbo'd 96 ex blew it up on boost, put a swap in, and its faster now then it was when it was boosted. i love it, im never lookin back. well, at least until i can afford another turbo :-p

I'm reporting this post as it'll turn into another bashing thread. Few things:
1) Search, this thread's only been covered 99 BILLION times in this forum alone but you still might be able to find some information on it.
2) This can turn N/A vs FI very fast.
3) On any 4 cyl engine, it is cheaper to boost (turbo) than go to N/A.
4) If you're on a budget - Turbo.
5) My vote for your situation goes to turbo.
6) Turbo 9 times out of 10 can get you more power for the same ammount
of money spent N/A
7) If you are stupid and buy a complete greddy kit for your car (instead of piecing it together like you should for like 600 bucks) - buy one from Greddy for 1500 or whatever, and you'll still be under how much it'll cost for a swap.
8) Reported.
Good luck with your build.
