Little help needed ith mini-me swap
I am new to this forum and i just traded my 93 integra for a 90 hatch with a mini-me swap in it. It has high compression pistions, 12:1 compression, ported polished head and such....the kid that did the work put the p28 computer in it and said he put the harness in it for the vtec.....the car will only rev out to 3000 though and then the rev limiter kicks in. Does anyone know what might be the problem? is it the wiring harness? someone told me i need to get a 88-91 civic si dash harness and engine harness and it will run perfect with that. I do not know much about civics at all so any help would be greatl appreceated...thank u
Ok the car has rywire harnesses in it i just foundout, should i call rywire and ask them some questions and see what they have to say? And also how do you check the codes i saw a thread in the faq and it said something about an led on the ecu but i have a p28 and i dont see an led how do you pull codes from it? And also going back to the rywire part, if you put any amount of pressure on the ecu wires the car shuts off do you feel i may need a new harness or the plugs may be badin the jumper? Id appreciate any help thanks.
do u think that it is worth it to order a new connector harness and try that since whenever i touch that it shuts the car off? Also about checking the CEL it did not work with what u told me to do. thank you though everyones help is greatly appreciated
ok i checked the codes and i came up with 1, 4, 15, 16....i think one was IAC, another was injectors and another one was crank position sensor i think.... i know the car has a brand new distrubitor on it so i dontthink its the crank position sensor...any help will be greatly appreciated...i need to get this car out of limp mode!! thank u
I am having the same problem with my 91 crx hf. car has been converted from OBD0 to OBD1 using the rywire harness. D16A6 with D16Z6 head. CEL is showing code 4. engine has new distributor..... Still using the stock HF harness, distributor plugs have been changed to OBD0 to OBD1. 4 wire O2 sensor has been wired in and the MAP sensor wires have been extended. Car idles like a dream, accellerates ok until u hit 3800 rpms. car has PO6 ecu now, VTEC not hooked up because I did not take the oil jet from the block. I do have the P28 ecu to install after i take the oil jet out. any help on the CEL & the revving problem would be appreciated.

ok the codes are:
1= oxgn sensor #1
4= crank position sensor
15= ignition output signal
16= fuel injectors
21= vtec spool solinoid
those are all the codes that my car is throwing, i have looked all all of them and they seen to be fine, i am thinking that i am just going to get a stock DX harness and try over again.good idea? thanks guys
