ok this is the story....i have a 98 gsr and want to convert it to obd1 i already have a obd2 to 0bd1 harness and a p30 ecu from a jdm b16, okay now i know the p30 isnt chippped or remaped, i plugged in the harness and ecu...is it normal for the car not to turn on????...i tried starting it but didnt want to turn on...do i have to chip it?

sounds to me you have an automatic tranny p30 jump it so it will think is on park in order to start
ps sorry I dont have the info to tell you wich pins to jump.

deff. not the problem, the ecu is off of my friends car and it was a 5speed...

You're right. I have an auto LS ECU on my H swap OBD1. I will link someone who knows a **** load about ECU's

Is the CEL going off after 2 seconds the key being on?

The car will run with a auto ECU, it will throw a lockup solineod code though.
