code #22 >>> vtec system malfunction?
So my check engine light is on so I checked what was wrong with it and FOUR codes came up.
CODES # 7, 10, 22, and 41
7= THROTTLE ANGLE
10= INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE
22= VTEC SYSTEM MALFUNCTION
41= O2 SENSOR
Does anyone have an idea how to fix these problems? My main concern is the VTEC SYSTEM MALFUNCTION. Has anyone experience the same problem/code? If so please help me out.
I found the codes on this website: http://www.superhonda.com/foru...58284
Thanks

Need a little big more information... Did you just do a motor swap? Or are these just errors that showed up out of no where?
Are you sure all the sensors are pluged in as well?

OH i drive a stock 1995 GSR. I just have dc 4-1 headers and a generic short ram intake with a K&N filter.
Yes the light just showed up and im sure the sensors are plugged in.

I would start witht he o2 sensor from my experience sometimes it will cause other CEL's... the vtec I don't know I would check the wiring and the solenoid possibly pull it off and clean the little screen....

Thanks but I've never pulled out the vtec solenoid. Is it a lot of work? Also what about the air intake temperature? What could possibly be wrong with my intake?

Repair your codes in the order they came out. That will be a lot eaiser if one problem is the cause of another. But if you don't then def make sure you check out your O2 sensor...you could be losing gas mileage as a result of that.
Okay so throttle angle came out first and im thinking its because i adjusted my idle to be lower. The reason I adjusted my idle is because one day after an oil change my engine idled at a higher rpm than usual. It was at 1500 instead of the normal 500 rpm. And my wheels started to spin on its own because the rpm was so high. So i adjusted it to be lower and til this day its still idleing abnormally. Can anyone explain that?

as for the code 22.. the vtec solenoid is either faulty or clogged..
try cleaning it out like someone else said...another cause is if your really low on oil..pressure will drop low enough where vtec wont engage and it will throw the code

Thanks man. So if it's a faulty vtec solenoid then do you reccomend I buy a new or a used one?
