Default serivce interval on the fuel filter

Was told by dealership it is a lifetime part that only needs changing when theres a problem.
I could have sworn that it has to be changed every 30,000

Also, can I get the correct ITR fuel filter pt #?

TIA

I personally believe in preventative maintenance so I change mine every 15k.

I thought they are supposed to last about 60,000 miles. Mine gave out around 100,000.

Preventive maintenance is easiest though...plus its like $30.

Mail me all of the old parts, I'll pay shipping.

After all, I know your showcar isn't driven hard at all.

What I didn't realize is that it would take Dave approx 15 years to accumulate 15000 miles so therefore he is only replacing that stuff because they are rusting out!

I change it when I'm doing a major tune up(cap, rotor, plugs etc..) for the $ why not. A clogged fuel filter can really hurt performance. It good to do so you can rule it out as a potential problem. PM is worth the time and $ if you have a nice car like an R

fuel filters on the rsx and newer cars many acura techs will tell you will last the life of the car. strangely enough i've heard there isnt a whole lot different about the fuel filters in the rsx compared to integra.

that said, when i removed my fuel filter at 15k, it looks brand spanking new, which it pretty much was.

Honda changed the service interval of the fuel filter without changing the design significantly. I would say 60k is a good service interval-more often if you use shitty gas. When you pull the filter off look at the fuel that drains out. If it comes out black with lots of debris, it was due. If the fuel looks fairly clean, then it has more life left in it. The service life of the fuel filter is determined by the quality of fuel that it sees.

I suppose at 121,xxx it's due for a change. Bad gas or not.
