PM user Dr. Pooface. He had a stock c5 boosted for a while. It now has a built bottom end.

I dont think a stock c5 can handle 350whp for very long. Usually its around 300whp if you want it to last long enough to enoy it.

The high compression from the stock motor will eventually back fire on ya. The least you can do is lower the compression and stay under 300WHP.

I yanked 308 out of the motor on a stock block. Lasted a while in the hot Floridian heat... the key is to get a great tune out of it. Scrap the blue box or whatever comes with the "kit" your buying and get a hondata, AEM, or something capable of making that setup reliable.

Actually, what will backfire on you is the shitty stock pistons. The ring lands literally just fall apart. The compression is just something people like to talk about that really isnt all that much of an issue

With a nice set up you do 300 on the stock motor, we run them a little fat under boost . Much over 300 and I would build it , 300 is enough to get you hooked

I don't care how good the tune is the stock ringlands will not take much over 300whp forever. Mine lasted 40K miles on 295whp (mustang dyno).

350 on stock pistons...dream on.

IMO, No, Its just that they are cast pistons and that is known to happen on cast pistons.
I have no proof as to why they break , but I can tell you that will be the first thing that will break if you are on a good tune.

Compression means nothing more then how much power and boost you can run on pump gas really.
There are cars with more compression the 10.6:1 making 1000whp. the difference is they do it on forged pistons and race gas or meth .
