Do the RPM gain of a b16 outweigh the power from a b18c, both boosted?
I bought a car with a built up GSR turbo motor. It wasn't tuned right, and the cylinders are messed up.
I'm looking for another block and crank, and I was wondering if I should go with a b16, or gsr motor again?
I wanted to know if the b16a's ability to rev higher than the b18c would outweigh the displacement increase from the 1.6 to the 1.8 liter motor if both of them were boosted. What are your thoughts?
P.S. This is strictly a drag racing motor build.

once you go b18 you cant go back to a b16 haha
build another b18, no questions asked. and when built correctly there isnt any rpm advantage. i rev my LS block to 10500

Only good thing about a b16 is its lack of torque! <---- 11.0 car that cant spin the tires!!!

When you say if you build it right the GSR can rev just as well as the b16, are you talking balancing the lower end and getting a good valvetrain, or just the valvetrain?
I have eagle rods, JE pistons, and there was a skunk2 valvetrain in it, BUT, I've read since I got the car, that skunk2 valvetrain sucks ***.
I was going to get another block have it bored and honed, balance the bottom end and slap the ported and polished head I already have back on that short block.???

i dont think a skunk2 valvetrain sucks bro. im pretty sure they still have the fastest n/a rsx in the world, using all skunk2 parts (obviously).

Well I dunno, there are a lot of guys on honda-tech that have complained about springs breaking or retainers breaking and dropping valves and grenading their entire motor. That would be expensive to fix.
So i'm kinda worried about the valvetrain.

dont worry about the valve train, I know guys that swear by S2 and havent heard of any problemes, locally.
