Default Jumping tach when boostin

hi i have an integra with an xs power turbo kit, sometimes when im boosting out it will boost 10 perfectly fine, then sometimes the car will be boosting and the tach will jump from 4-6, the motor will get real loud like im hitting a vtec .. the car has a brand new clutch in it xtreme 6puck act..you think its a boost leak? while teh car does that the boost gauge will jump too it dont seem like its going down though..the car has a fresh set of wiseco pistons and eagle rods in it too... how do people check boost leaks without a dyno? please help thanks

What fuel mods do you have?

it its jumping, it wouldnt be a boost LEAK now would it?

it would be a boost CREEP.... if the boost levels are increasing when it jumps, you have boost creep.

hmm.

Guess the only thing you can do at this point is double check all you pipe connections to make sure they're tight and see what the tuner says.

cheap wastegate.. or springs. well u said xs power so cheap everything LOL.. but im guessing as well that it would be a boost creep from a shitty wastegate.

I have a 91 integra. It does the same thing. The guy at the shop that did my kit told me that the wastegate was a piece of **** and would prob only last a cupple months and to be vey careful and always watch my boost gauge when hitting boost

Mly car hits 8 lbs and holds 8 lbs but my rpm will jump really bad, i have a stage 3 clutch and its new.

IF it was boost creap wouldnt the boost go over the psi the spring is set on, check to see what psi spring you got and then u will be able to see if its creep when u boost.

If you hit lets say 8 lbs and then it drops, that could possibly be a leak in the charge pipes somewere.

well i took the wastegate off and noticed the valve sticking.. so i went thru the whole thing and cleaned up the shaft and put a little bit of lube in there.;. it feels much better, i did change the spring when i brought it to the dyno to a 12 psi,,, the car blew the oil pump on saturday on the dyno so i havent tryed the wastegate since i took it apart.. im pretty sure that was my problem.. i dunno well see i keep you posted
