Well i taking some stuff apart on my car today to change headstuds and headgasket. I took the filter off the compressor and find black "gunk" on the inside. None on the fins. What could this be? blown seal? The turbo is a td05h aka 14b

 

need more info on the setup and how long has the turbo been installed for? Hows your oil pressure? Any shaft play?

Um the setup has been run for about 5k miles. Its hf mani with a 14b. barley any shaft play. couldnt tell the oil pressure because i dont have a gauge. but the return line is pretty much horizontal. it comes off the turbo for about an inch and a half then a 45 degree fitting to the pan.
