Just recently i have been getting a metal grinding/squeeling noise that can be heard in all gears. Seems to be louder in 1st and 2nd gear.it increases with rpm. I believe its coming from my tranny. grinding noise does not go away in neutral or when clutch is pushed in,but can only be heard when driving. when car is cold started and reved in neutral the noise is gone. Also have humming noise that can be heard from tranny(can only be heard when listening up close to tranny) When clutch is disengaged noise goes away. Not sure if both noises are related but must get rid of the grinding noise asap. driving me crazy!

Gmoney.... whatever you do, don't take it to AAMCO, they will f u over.
I had this problem, and it seemed to be a bad bearing somewhere in there... and my clutch was really worn.

*****. I havnt had any problems with any of my transmissions before, but it sounds to me like a bad bearing somewhere. It probably isnt the throwout bearing if the sound is constant and doesnt go away when the clutch is engaged.
Could be something like the pilot bearing.
My two cents.
Help the fella out HT!

it sounds like the isb on the trans is going out but there are a few things in your description that don't make sence. But imo its the isb (input shaft bearing
