Ek exhaust
Hey guys i have an ek sedan. it was bought for me when i was 15 by my parents, a coupe would be better, but hey i'm not complainin. im gonna turn 16 soon and would like suggestions on what kind of exaust i should get. I think i would like maybe like a more higher pitched exhaust rather than a low v8 sounding exhaust. Any suggestions?
p.s. i'm leanin toward a catback sysytem.
Thanks, Eddie

i've never really heard of a v8 sounding honda but personally id go with either a Greddy SP2 or an HKS Hi-power if your looking for loud, although both are quite expensive.
Before you do anything to your car, make sure you save, read, and learn as much as you can before you do this.
1) Why do you want an exhaust? (sound? Performance?)
2) what are you expecting the exhaust to do once you've got it?
3) Do you think there are more worthwhile mods?

Loud exhausts are out bro.
At least here, the Scene on this website is mostly stock looking, lowered with wheels. Swapped or turbo with typically quieter, well researched I/h/e mods.
Most people who know what they're doing for real performance buy exhaust/header, and intake after the've turbo'd swapped or done the big things first.
You're not going to get anything out of a SOHC motor unless you turbo it. But like I said, if you're just looking for sound, go for it. Though I would buy an axleback like an OBX twin loop.

I agree. Minus not getting anything out of a SOHC w/o turboing. That's incorrect.
Please, whatever you do, dont put a fart cannon on your stock 4 door. Cheese!

Of course you can get "something" out of N/A sohc. But it's not nearly as cost effective as buying a good swap or turboing it. There are much cheaper alternatives to accomplishing the same goals. That's why a lot of people to bother modifying their civics until they've A: added a turbo or B: Swapped in a motor.
The really cool kids do B + A Ftw.

I think single slammers have good potential, with the right parts, d16a1 pistons( 12.1 compression in a y8) + a good cam an valvetrain setup + intake and exhaust manifolds + upgraded fuel system + a good tun and ull be makin some nice all motor power.
