Default Switch 2 synthetic

93 LX D15b7
My engine has 80,000 miles and it runs great. I did the seafoam treatment which was also great but after I changed the oil I went with a synthetic, Mobil 1. Everything is great but I saw today that my car is leaving small puddles on the garage floor. What can I do? I never had problems with leaks before. is this because I switched 2 a synthetic or partially that I did it right after sea foam?

The detergents in the synthetic oils will "clean-up" the varnish and sludge left by conventional oils. If your engine seals are worn, the synthetic will break down the oil varnish that may be maintaining the seal. So it's not that the synthetic oil caused a leak, it just that it revealed worn seals by cleaning the varnish off of them. Many people have switched to synthetic on 100,000+ mile engines with no leaks, so it just depends on how often you changed your oil and the overall condition of your engine.

Ok thanks for explaining that.
I got the car and the previous owner had all records of changes. Plus I always changed the oil every 3-5k miles. So should I switch back? Or will i need to get new seals?

Sounds good anyone know how much that costs? or is it something simple like the oil pan gasket?

imo, i would gop with a synthetic blend. you have the long jevity of the synthetic and lubrication but the cooling ability of a conventional oil.

Checked yesterday afther the cowboys lost. Good news is its not a seal.
The bolt that you loosen to release the oil was wet with oil. It wasn't super tight because the first time I didn't want to strip it. but this time I tightened it. Its leaking less but Its still leaking so im not sure what to do now.

clean your engine compartment with Simple Green. When it leaks, you will see where it is from because your engine should now be clean. Try that to narrow it down.

go to honda and replace the washer, clean around the bolt hole, and then retighten it, (possibly at next oil change). should fix it.
