Belt noise? Can't figure this one out

I hear the noise pretty rarely, I have a 2000 hatch. When I gun it a little in first, I'll shift, and when the shift is complete, just before I left the clutch out I hear a belt type squeak. I've also heard the same squeak once when my brother turned the car off. It's kind of a mystery squeak. I've only heard it going into 2nd every 6th time I guess. And only that one time when we turned the car off. I swear it's a belt, what do you guys think?

Have you checked the tension on all of your belts & have you checked their condition?
My alternator belt is too tight/not tight enough and it only squeals when I downshift or I'm idling. It drives me apeshit.

I'll check that. What's the correct tension? Any kind of rule of thumb? I've changed the belts on my old car, but I had help.

Because my sockets are 12pt and the lower nut started to strip, so I have to wait until this weekend when my friend is home so we can loosen it up with a 6pt or vice grips.

I was told there should be about 1/2" worth of slack in the lines. I think I have more like 1" for my alt.
It's not hard to loosen/change the belts. I know on the alternator there is one 12mm that goes through a bracket that has a ( shape to it. There's also one under it that needs to be loosened so you can move the alt forward/backward.
I think on the PS & AC there are wingnuts that can be loosened/tightened, and there are also other bolts that need to be loosened so you can move it.
I'm sure once you look at them you'll be able to see how you can move them.

My throwout bearing/hydro clutch fork assembly squeaks when I engage & disengage the clutch. Greased the hell out of it, and the squeak got softer, but it's still there.
Definitely sounds different than the super-high-pitch atypical belt squeak, and it's timed perfectly for me pressing down & releasing the pedal. I can sit there with the engine off and pump the clutch pedal and it'll squeak up a storm. It's worth doing that a few times to see if that's the source of your sound or not, but you probably know what a belt squeak sounds like.
