why just the rings?
before order anything, i would take the head off and check the cylinder walls first if it need to be bored, as if the engine is already getting old and need to replace anything

Rings are dependant of the piston size. If your going with oversized pistons, then you'll want to get the matching oversized rings.

I seriously doubt you would need to "Hone" or bore the cylinder. If hone marks are still visable, then its not needed. Per Honda recommendations...

the reason why im getting piston rings is because i was getting a little blue smoke at hig rpm. I have stock jdm itr pistons, i just needed to know what size piston rings i needed.

do you guys think i should replace the bearings with race acl's or im fine with stock to withstand 200whp?? motor has about 55-60k

specs on head

rocketmotorsprts valve train
rev flat face valves
crower spec2 cams

thanks for helping a newb guys

blue= unburn fuel, get your car tuned before spending/replacing any crap.

for the bearing, i have been always told use OEM and color match them

Bottom line is you need to have the engine disassembled to know for sure what needs to be replaced.

If you upsize the rings you need to increase piston size and bore the cylinders.

Maybe someone could provide more info on the ACL bearings?

oh yeah http://inlinefour.com

Sounds like you need to do a lot of research before you try to reassemble the motor.

blue = oil

black = fuel

To the OP, observe your oil consumption and do a compression check....leakdown might be a good idea as well.

Pick up a manual and give it some good reading time... Bearings are coded by color depending on the thickness of the bearing. Most of the time you can just match the bearings to the crank and rod by the letters that are stamped on those pieces. but its still a good idea to plastigauge just to make sure.

Check out this site: http://www.hondahookup.com/manuals/

Further more, DO NOT use the ACL race bearings. These are not street car bearings. And from my experience, fork out the extra dough for the OEM bearings... ACL only gets you close and if you want to have a reliable motor go with the OEM...

honestly I cant see blue smoke at all when my car burned 1qt per 500 km...

but i can see blue to black smoke now with a 4G63 sitting in tuner, its running limp mode so im supposing its running rich(fuel)?

i can see milky white smoke all the time but this prolly due to an un-tuned engine...

so im not so sure this is an individual case to me or Im missing something. I use Motul 300V btw, dont think it makes difference when it comes to the buring part.

someone could explain to a n00b (me)?
