Honestly is there any difference between Hondata and Uberdata?
I ordered my s200 not aware that it is not compatible with the p13 ECU. I dont have enough mony to get a p28, p72, etc and get tuning until my next paycheck but i need tuning asap with my new stage 2 cams. Should i just return the blue box and run uberdata? Are they completely identical besides the box? is there any pros and cons?
thanks guys

Actually i have read both the hondata and uberdata websites...when i ordered the unit the man who answered the phone asked what ecu i was running and said s200 is universal it will work, until my tuner told me he was a jackass.
Uberdata can be run on a p13 ecu all u have to do is convert to a different ROM, besides if i were to run uberdata i have a p05 in my garage which can also be altered to run an appropriate map.
The only answers i get when i ask this question is Uberdata is crap, which is basically all you just told me. I would like to know the reason why this is true. Thank you for replying, but unless you have some more useful information, please do not take the time to post again.

Aftermarket support for the P13 is extremely limited, and the little bit of support that exists for it is very old and less than ideal for tuning.
The good news is that your P05 can be converted to a P28 (minus the Primary O2 heater control) and be tuned with the S200, Crome, or NepTune software.

http://www.phearable.net/tech/....html pretty much explains everything for a beginner
In my opinion crome is the best bet for some one who does not need a specific feature of hondata s200 etc.

fuel is fuel, timing is timing. your adding and subtracting either way. its just which way is easiest.
i would go uber if your tuner can use it.

Uberdata will do all the same basic functions Hondata will. fuel/timing/re-limits etc...
hondata has some advantages of course. it has more working features and better support.
if your setup consists of some basic stuff and you don't really need extra features then you can get away with UD.

have you guys even used uber? it doesnt suck its just outdated compared to whats out there now. it will do everything you need to do for a basic tune. it doesnt have alot of newer features but who cares its free and it works.
im not saying crome/hondata arent better cause they are, but uberdata doesnt "suck" i tuned both my setups on uber, dynos in my sig. my cars been runnin great for years now on uber so it would certainly get this dude by for a couple weeks.
that being said, id still use free crome, get used to using it, then upgrade to crome pro down the road. forget hondata...

I used Uber a year ago and at that time it had alot of bugs. I struggled with it for almost a year and in the end my car never really ran correctly. I did however learn alot about EFI from messing with it. Id just recomend spending the extra money and go with Hondata.
One major problem that I saw was that most of the people writing scripts would start working on alot of Extra's before they got the basic program to work. Like datalogging would never record correctly, and the program had some glitches. Im not sure if theyve refined it by now, but I guess you cant really complain since its all free and theyre not making a cent off of it.

i've been using uberdata for the past 3+ years. never had a problem with it......everytime i did have any type of problem it was always user error.
