need some input on turbo for gsr, sc61 or gt35r
So ive got a semi built gsr low cr build with ctr cams and a nice pnp job. Ive decided to start building the turbo kit and heres what i had in mind any input would be aweseom, only things im worrued about are the wg size, the turbo i selected and finnaly the powerband on the street.
presision sc61
spoolin log w/ dp
chrome p28
tial 38mm wg
tial 50mm bov
2.5 bar map sensor
act 6 puck w/ lightneed fly
like i said all input would be awesome, i was thinking about maybe a gt35r?

either that or maybe the t3/t67 h.o. .82 a/r from full-race. that turbo was fun as hell on my stock gsr a couple yrs back!!! spooled great!

If you are doing it on a budget, then I'd stick with the SC61. I was thinking the same thing, but the reason I went with the SC61 is because it's the same compressor wheel, you don't have to run coolant lines, it's about half the price. For me, the advantage of the GT35R doesn't compare to the money saved in my pocket.
Oh yea, and if you plan to run low boost, then I'd get a bigger wastegate with such a large turbo.

you would have to buy the whole central housing rotating assembling cost about 700 and up as much as a new turbo. if i had the money i would get the gt35 i've been through a couple of turbos. example would be when i cracked a piston the metal went in through the turbo. clogged the line up etc. etc. or another example would be loss of oil pressure form a bad oil pump there goes you'r turbo. alot of factors. but thats just worst case scenerios not trying to scare you just some things that happened to me i learned the hard way. plus you have to add coolant lines on the gt turbo. don't get me wrong those are the best turbos on the market. how bout the t3t67 with a .63 from full-race awsome turbos
right right ill check into it, are there any other turbos on the less expensive side maybe to look into? IM not triyng to go cheap , like im going to be doing the turbo setup over the nest 4 months so no hurry. But maybe a nice bang for the buck kinda thing?
all these turbos can be rebuilt. remember a lil more lag better traction. i think with the t3t67HO you will make mad power at a lower boost level and since you have a good port and polish and civic type R cams you should have a decent spool up the gt will spool up maybe 400 to 500 rpm difference on the gt35 so i herd.
sc61, I am running it right now on a ls/vtec, and the spool up is right where I want it. 4500-5000 full boost at 21psi throttle response is great also. even if I was rich I would never waste money on Gt turbo for 500 whp. maybe if I was shooting for 1000whp on the streets and a Gt bb was the only turbo that could get me there I would consider one, but other than that, regular old school turbos all the way for me, 500 extra spool up time is not worth $2000 extra in my opinion.

you wont have to rebuild a gt35R like you have to rebuild an SC61...

thats why i would just buy a t3/t67 h.o. and be done with it. people have hit 700+whp with this badboy!!!
