If it's anything like the trunk release....
then the cable should just unclip from inside the hood, and it has several other slots where you can re-clip it. just pull the cable further away from the latch.

if it's not like the trunk release....
then i don't know

i have the same issue however i do not think it is the cable because i have adjusted it multiple times and it does not help in my opinion it is most likely the spring that helps pop the hood up

x2 Try screwing the bolt that the spring's on a little tighter so that it can "pop" better. You might have to use a ****-ton of WD40 and elbow grease to get that sucker turned, but it'll move. You just need a large-bladed flathead screwdriver.

anymore ideas? I also have the same problem on the crx i just bought.
I did read somewhere that someone added a couple washers under the 4 bolts that hold that front metal panel between the headlights but that was because he had an SIR hood that wouldn't latch. Maybe that will work but I don't know, I can't get my damn hood open to try.

my hood was doing this. I cleaned the gunk out of the spring and latch, then used white grease and lubed it all up.. works fine now. that was 6+ months ago.
