driverside axle question
i'm putting in a jdm itr swap into my eg, i bought new reman'd axles, and i just want to make sure how deep the axle goes into the half shaft.

i've pushed it in as deep as possible. i think this is as far as it can go.. some input would be great. would like to make sure.
thanks,
matt

Seems like that it can go a hair further, but you shouldnt have to hammer it in. Once you push it in with your own strength is as far as it goes. Put some anti-seize while you are in there.

I disagree. I think it's in all the way. I usually tap the axle a few times with a hammer to make sure.

Tip:
NAPA sells NEW axles in addition to remans. They're reasonably priced for the new ones ($100-$120?). I've been road racing with my new NAPA ones, on my turbo pig.

Is that half shaft a B-serier shaft??
Cuz if im not mistaken the shaft goes all the way in to the hollow driver side axles, there is a retainer clip in the shaft, you will hear it CLICK when you insert it into the axle.
When you put it all together and torqued the axle nut down, were you able to make the that dent in the nut to the flushness of the axle??

How much it "looks" like it's in the halfshaft is going to depend on what axle you bought. My DSS axles look like they don't go in nearly as far as my old autozone axles, or my OEM ones before that.
Personally, it's more convenient when it looks like it doesn't go in as far (although it's fully in there), because it's easier to pry it out when you need to take it out.
