The problem it has now is that it pops out of fifth gear after a short time (10-20 minutes) and that it sometimes pops out of fourth gear after crusing for long rides.it does not grind.what can it be???its a 00'Si tranny

changed it out already.put in about 2qt of honda mtf.

 

you should double check it.. and check if you have a leak.. if its not that then its time for a new tranny

 

I was always under the impression that popping out of gear = worn out transmission. I have No tech input on that, its just what my dad always said

 

it could mean that but sometimes its just your low on tranny fluid i have that problem with my current tranny it has a little leak and when it starts popping out of gear in 5th i know its time to fill up again.. i know its not the right thing to do but i got to live with it for now till i save enough for a new tranny

 

there is no leaks that I can see but check more on it when I put on the lift when I get home.the tranny was just rebuilt w/carbon coated syncros.it only has about 30k miles on it.thats normal driving and the ocasional running.

 

Same thing happen to me before and one day the tranny just went, its either the clutch going out but most likely its time for a new tranny, when mine broke I had to replace the tranny. You can still drive like that for some time but one day it will just give.

 

meh dont worry bout the tranny i have bout 15-20k on a bad clutch housing bearing. its so hollowed out its nasty when i downshift you can hear gears howling and reverse sounds like a virgin girl getting laid for the first time it whines sooooo loud. hehe yea its ok its a honda
