I installed a brand new Exedy Stage 1 Clutch and Pressure Plate, brand new release bearing, brand new ACT street light flywheel, last year, they have < 5,000 miles on them.

Yesterday my pressure plate started making a loud clicking noise whenever I let go of the clutch pedal, it’s coming from inside the tranny. It’s really loud you can hear it outside with the engine running, inside, and I can even feel the vibration in the clutch pedal as if
not all the springs are releasing at once or binding as it catches up and CLICK!

As I release the pedal….cliiick…..cliick…..click.

It did this once before but it went away and it only did it when the engine got really hot after a whole day of driving around, well now the engine is cool and its still making the sound but not as loud.
WTF?

I spend $1000+ on brand new parts so I didn't have to deal with **** like this

 

sounds like a bad bearing. does the noise go away when you are in gear?

 

does it with the engine on/off, in/out gear driving or not

no ones pressure plate springs ever made any noise

That sounds to me like a release/throwout bearing. If it does it with the engine on or off pushing the pedal.

And yes, I realize that you replaced that, but that is my only guess as to the noise.

 

na its coming from the pressure plate, now it went away when the engine cooled off, I can hear the "ringing" noise from the pressure plate when is makes the clicking sound, its not the bearing

 

if u know its the pressure plate, contact exeddy and tell them, but my guess too would be throwout bearing. ive heard them making clicking noises before
