Default Rubbing Issue

Alright well I'm running 17x8 SSR Comps with 225/45/17 tires on my 5th gen. In the front I have Toyo Proxes4 and in the rear its Yokohama ES100 My car is rubbing like crazy even on the stock suspension. Its the rear thats rubbing the most. What can I do? I asked around and people have been saying 205 series tires with a fender roll while others are saying that wont solve my problem and I really dont want to buy new tires because the tires on these are brand new. Someone else also said if I get tein SS suspension it will bring it closer in which will give me enough clearance. I also want to lower my car back to the Eibach Pro-kit and Bilsteins that I had with no problems. Thanks in advance.

You have too wide of a tire..You should've gone with a P215/40R17 tire

i had 215/45/17 on 17x7 with a 37 offset. i was rubbing also. so i went with some 215/40/17 and its alot better now. i rub every so often but not all the time like i use to.

Honestly it's pointless for anyone to offer any advice without knowing what you are running for an offset...

well if you are rubbing on the inside you can simply get some wheel spacers to push them out. that would be the easiest and cheapest fix

i believe my offset is either +35 or +38. The tire is rubbing on the inside part of the outer fender. I'll get pics.

Don't listen to this individual it's clear he's very confused.

Your problem lies in both your tire width and your offset. The factory offset on your lude is +55 and most(not all) people don't bother running offsets below +42 because it usually causes rubbing with any tire wider than 215. You got to low of an offset and to wide of a tire. You can try using a more narrow tire and rolling the fenders but I'm willing to bet you'll still have rubbing problems with that setup.

I wouldn't say screwed. I've seen much more difficult things made to fit. The link below is the type of tool used to roll fenders. I'd actually get a shop with one to do it for you unless you can get your hands on one of them to borrow. You would need to actually heat the paint around the edge of the lip before rolling otherwise you crack paint and it isn't any fun.

Some will tell you to heat the fenders yourself and use the leverage of the car and a baseball bat to do it but it's risky and rarely looks as good.
