engine coolant temp sensor
I think there are three of them. Theres a temp sensor for the fan in the thermostat housing, and the ECU reads off of a sensor on the passenger side of the cylinder head. The temp gauge reads off a seperate sensor on the same part of the head as well. I don't know the wire colors off the top of my head.
the one that the ecu reads is on the head undr the dizzy/vtec sol. has 2 wires going to it (green/black and red/white). the one that goes to the instrument cluster is next to the other one but has one wire hooked to it, and the one on the thermostat housing controls the fans it has 2 wires also.

that's what you meant...
the ECU is only connected to one of them.

no, not really the ecu is connected to the one on the thermostat housing but it dont use a signal from it, the switch can turn the radiator fan on and the ecu can turn the radiator fan on. the switch sends the signal to ground to turn the fan on and the ecu can too.

ok technically it's connected to that one also, but it does not read it.
From what I can tell it's a hardwired or. meaning... well for this purpose.. who cares.
