Default y8 IM makes car run rich....i think

i just recently put a y8 IM on my y7 engine. when i turn the car on, i notice that it idles at 2000 rpm, and then after driving for a little while, it would go back down to 1000 rpm. also, i notice that the car is, i think, running rich. i have an A/F gauge for general purposes, and before i changed the IM, the gauge would go back and forth, but once i put the y8 IM on, it stayed only in the "rich" area. i know that the A/F gauge is not accurate, but it only stays in that area now. overall, it pulls harder and accelerates faster. i can esp. feel 3rd and 4th gear pull a little better. yep. anybody got any advice? or is this normal?
