Default iab?

basically i just bought a 95 b18c1 motor and i notice it didn't come wit this iab box but the solenoid is still there wit the vacuum lines hooked up to it. is it possible to run like this still. i did search but didn't find an answer to this.

you can...but obviously your secondaries wont function properly...they will probably in all likelihood remain in the open position

the way mine is set up is #15 hose comes off the #3 t-fitting where #14 and #4 used to be and runs to the#6 solenoid where the #9 hose is supposed to go. and everything else is the same. my question is, is it ok to run like this? what is the cause and effect? or will the secondaries stay open as lVlemphizStylez stated.

I would set it up the way it was meant to be. If the IAB is not connected the the secondaries will stay open, and it could affect the idle. If u dont want to use the IAB then get like a skunk2 manifold and and ECU that doesnt have the IAB control

u can run like that but it will run shitty. you will lose tons of torque and midrange power because they stay open. i have that IAB box PM me if you want it ill give it to u for cheap

just a thought if the secondaries stay open meaning more air coming in can't i just up the fuel pressure a little to compensate for the air coming in. or would that be a bad idea? also i don't have enough money 4 a manifold rite now, but when i do i will get one! worse comes the worse i'll just get the iab box.

if only the logic behind fluid dynamics was that simple....no it doesnt work like that...think about what you do when the secondaries open....think pipe length diamter...and velocity of a fluid

You need turbulence in the air flow to mix the fuel with the air. The IABs allow for adequate turbulence without excessive flow restriction.

if your motor is has st ock internals... getting an IAB box would be your best purchase. getting a single runner manifold will slow u down without any headwork. i've been in your situation before, and purchasing the IAB box was well worth it

The check valve is essential for the vacuum canister to store vacuum.
