Anyone have any tips on removing a crankshaft pulley?
I've been trying to remove a crankshaft pulley from a 92 Integra LS for the last 2 weeks (trying to change the timing belt) and it hasn’t moved a bit. I’ve even taken the motor out
~.
I’m currently using a chain tool to hold the pulley in place and it hasn’t moved but I was wondering the Honda crankshaft removal tool would be of any help?
Note: So far I broken 3 wrenches using a long breaker bar and tried 2 different air guns. Anyone have any ideas?

Just get the crank pulley removal tool. I had the same problem. I borrowed the moroso version from a fellow member and it came off right away. It costs about $30 - $40 and makes it real easy.

Yeah you must just have a weak *** Impact gun or a weak *** compressor...or both.....I have a 55 gal. compressor with an old *** impact gun i think its 400 ft lbs and it took mine right off...
1/2" drive and I would suggest 400+ft/lb of torque.
Most of them have a selector so you can limit the amount of torque they put out. I was using mine this weekend on some suspension bolts. I had it down to 80psi and on setting 1 or 2. I had it on 6 when I did the crank bolt and the compressor at 130psi as it droped to about 100 when I was using it.

What I have done is shove something where the starter goes to stop the pulley from moving and used a breaker bar. Seems primitive, but it works for me.
When using an air gun make sure you don't use an extension off the gun because this limits the vibrating/hammering affect of the air gun. Tried getting the pully out with a 500 ft. lb.+ airgun with an extension and no dice. Took the extension piece off and it came off in like 2 seconds.

try putting the car in 4th gear, not 5th, as the 5th has a smaller synchro sleeve than the 3-4 gears. then have a buddy hold the breaks while you use a large breaker bar to break the bolt loose.
the clutch will give a little bit but that's just the clutch springs compressing.

Even that won't work. I tried that for 3 days and I didn't get it off until I used the moroso tool. Just go pick it up tomorrow, it'll be worth it in the time that you save trying every other way mentioned.
