Remove the dust cover from the tranny and wedge a screwdriver into the flywheel. It's ghetto as hell, but it's your engine.

not ghetto at all. And don't use a screwdriver, use a close ended wrench between the flywheel teeth and tranny housing

don't they make a flyweel tool too, that has teeth on it? It's supposed to bolt to the housing and lock the flywheel. I have never been able to find one though.

if it has a manual tranny, put the car in gear, and have someone step on the brakes. this will keep the engine from moving. then brake the bolt loose with a 3'+ breaker bar. i used a 24" lug wrench
