Default VTEC Common Problem

Is there any common problems that integras have when VTEC engage?
My check engine light went on when i engaged in vtec today. Going to check out the codes later but just wondering.

What did it do exactly when the code came up? Be specific and I can probably help..

Get the code read at autozone, that'll give us a better idea.

Just jump you Diagnostic port with a paper clip, and watch the CEL light..

Long flash = first # in the CEL code
Short flast = Second # in CEL code

Just like if it flashed like this:

long..long..short..short.. = Code 22

Thats how it reads, if you didn't know it already.. And that's probably the code you threw, which is VTEC Sileniod Malfuntion/System Malfunction. On a scanner it would probably be code P1259.. Just my guess?

it could be a lot of things though.... I get my knock sensor code when i hit vtec because my knock sensor isn't wired yet....

just do what he said and check the code yourself. autozone sucks.

and then you will know what the problem is
