Engine Serial Numbers etc
I recently purchase B18 conversion kit from a reputable person advertising it is a 98spec ITR conversion kit (when you say 98spec, u immediately think a JDM-R motor, as over here the NZNEW unimported R's were produced late 98-01, so ud just call it a NZDM ITR kit), i thought great year sent the money, and it was sent to me..
Well it arrived, and it had the numbers;
B18C5-0830345 on the motor
S80-3115423
and ecu number 37821-P73-013 whcih from a search reveals it is an JDM ECU. Now i know jdm motors just say B18C and for a 98 spec it would B18C-21XXXXX from memory. I'm not sure what the 98spec 4.7 box serials are meant to be..
So my question, whilst im sitting here feeling abit mislead and shafted, what does the engine / box numbers indicate? is there anyway to tell what sort box it acutally is? There is no LSD J4D Stamping, but is LSD as there is no cross pin.
Any help is appreciated,
thanks

Hey Jarrod, its Raj ur old suspension workmate, bro i'm pretty sure the '98spec gbox has N3E stamped rather than the J4D of '95-'97spec ITR's..
