Replaced thermostat...Temp gauge still not warming up...
I replaced the thermostat in my GSR and the gauge came up a bit more than before but still not getting to temp.Need some help with this one.Ive been driving for a couple months with the temp gauge not setting properly and it got worse and worse, until it wouldnt get to temp at all.
Could it not get to reg. temp. if my radiator cap is bad?
What activates the fan switch the temp gauge or the actuall temp of the engine?
What else could it be?
Thanks

did u make sure it was hooked up to the sensor on the side of the head under the distributer

FYI there are two both under the Distributor, one is for the ECU its the 2 wire one, the wire one is what your coolant gauge runs off of.

Fan switch is in the thermostat housing, with a 2-wire plug.
Coolant temperature sensor for the ECU is in the head, with a 2-wire plug.
Coolant temperature sender for the gauge is nearby in the head, with 1 wire.
Since it's a GSR, there's also a VTEC oil pressure sensor at the VTEC spool valve, it's got a 2-wire plug similar to the ECU's temperature sensor. But this plug is green plastic.
Your gauge might be bad, or the circuit between sender & gauge might be bad (loose/dirty/corroded?)

My temp gauge in my cluster recently stopped working right. I thought it was the cluster, since im still getting a temp reading in CromePRO when datalogging. Thanks for the knowledge.
