High Mileage Tune Up 5Gen
i know i should refer back to the owners manual, but i have other issues i'd like to address.
FYI: i'm not big on hooking up my car. hence, stock 1997 SS with 125k rebuilt tranny once @ 86k ::knock on wood:: i have had my water pump and timing belt changed.
Basics:
oil change-filter
ATF flush *is it true ATF should be oem?*
brake lines/fluid
radiator flush
add fuel cleaner (valvoline and such)
spark plugs (searched: found that iridium/platinum are overkill and ngk coppers are good to go *shorter lifespan*)
distributor cap/rotor (oem)
k&n filter (searched and much debate over paper/k&n ... i bought the K&N just to see for myself)
Problem Areas:
i have a minor oil leak. let me rephrase, its about 10 drops of oil everytime the car shuts off and warm. (no dripping when still cold) the dealer couldn't pin point the leak and i don't wanna waste my time and effort going underneath and honda-bonding everything up. anyone ever have this problem and know a remedy?
another issue is just a few days ago, the pulley area is making LOUD squealling noise. i did the best i could to fix it... wd-40 can only do so much.
i'm not 100% sure if replacing the pulley will fix the squealling.
but i have searched i should just replace the pullies with AEM Tru-Power Pulley Kit ($160 without shipping--the cheapest i found) because it'll help with the SS. (people were still debating whether this was true or false) so make the upgrade or not?
Misc.
head gaskets? other gaskets?
--------------------------
if anyone has anything else to add, clarify or comment about the list, it would greatly be appreciated.

ATF - I would only use OEM fluids except oil - mobil 1
Brake lines just inspect them
Radiator flush?? how bad is your system - if its Really bad maybe a flush would be good
Fuel additives are up in the air for my. I say some injector cleaner now an then is good but only if your fuel filter is fairly new
Plugs just NGK
Dizzy - I use MSD cap and rotor only cause I am using MSD coil
Filter - Clean one
Find the oil leak and fix it if possible - Oil cooler???
Pulley noise - check belts (replace) inspect pulleys and look for bad bearings somewhere
AEM true Power - If you got the cash why not?
Compression and leakdown test for headgasket test
Dont forget the Timing belt and tensioner _ Very important
