Shed some light on Hondata for me....
Im confused as to how it works. First you have the chipped ECU, then you have the blue box that plugs into it (s200)
Now if i wanted to tune it, can i just plug into the blue box? or do i really have to buy a chip burner/romulator and mess with that.
If i have to have a chip burner, why do i have to have the blue box?
Why am i asking this? because i was hopeing to do a bit of tuning myself but i got lost on the hondata site between the romulator, chip burner, datalogging, rom editor, and programmer.

If you want to buy and use hondata yourself, your looking at a cost of about 1000$ when its all said and done. Pricing the S300 system with ALL options, plus the ECU cost.

Assuming you already have Datalogging in your Hondata Box, you are going to need the following to tune yourself:
ROM Editor ($200)
Wideband O2 ($250)
Romulator/Ostrich ($175)
Chip Burner ($85)
Total ($710)

Chip Burner ($85)

what is the rom editor? shouldnt that come with the chip burner?
I already have a wideband.
do you really need a romulator? wouldnt you need that OR the chip burner?
also, wouldnt i need all this stuff if i used crome?

The ROM Editor is the Software used to make changes to the ECU program file (BIN).
The ROM Editor is not a standard feature included in the S200 System. Hondata charges $200 for the software license.
The Romulator is not needed, but it helps speed the tuning process by allowing you to tune in Real-Time. Otherwise you would have to burn a new chip each time you made a change to the ECU program file.
If you wanted to use Crome, you would have to purchase the Crome-Pro License ($150). The same hardware is needed to run both Hondata and Crome.

what all does crome pro have that crome doesnt?
what the hell does plugging into the hondata blue box do then?</TD></TR></TABLE>
I think Crome-Pro has Datalogging, Autotune, etc to name a few..
The Hondata Blue Box is basically a Key needed to run a Hondata Programmed Chip. It has electronics inside that is used to decipher their proprietary code.
