Default Looking at all new suspension set up

I have a a 98 civic and as the title reads i am Looking at all new suspension set up, but i do not really have much experience in this field if you could help me out with what you would go with as far as occasional track use but mostly just street.

I'm talking coilovers, bushings, sway bars, all of it let me know what you recommend and why so please....

Thanks in advance

1. Take your time and do your research, don't jump on the first thing that someone throws across your path. The more comparisons you can do, the better.

2. Will you be tracking your car very often? And don't lie - the only person you'd be fooling is yourself. H-T doesn't care how you spend your money. You say you want to build a race car, we can build you a race car. But unless you have money to **** away on failed setups, do yourself a favor and be honest. Will the car ever see a track at all in its life? If not...

3. Its not worth it to go all out on coilovers and new bushings. A good set of lowering springs and shocks will give you a nice lowered look, and do wonders for your handling - enough for the street. Adding a rear bar is the next best thing, and possibly a better bang for the buck, but IMO choosing a rear bar comes AFTER choosing springs, because swaybars are tuning devices - they do not take the place of proper spring rates.

It will be going to the track once or twice a month, i need to improve my best has been a 13.7 with this setup. But its mostly going to just be a street car, I have some springs on there now that were there when i got the car and i am sure that they need replaced by now.
but other than that there is really now suspensionwork done

Theoretically, springs can wear out. But for all intents and purposes, a well-made set of springs will outlast the life of a car by far.

However, if you're looking to reduce your 60's then more than likely your springs are too soft to control squat on hard launches (specifically, your rear springs). So for your suspension you'd want, at the very least, stiffer rear springs. Keep in mind that whats good for your 1/4 times is NOT going to be good for the street, and vice versa, so its even more important to find a balance between street and drag, and you'll be making more compromises.

The best thing to do would be to have two setups - one for the street, and one for the track. The most affordable way of doing this is simply to buy stiffer rear springs and a pair of shocks to go with them and just throw them on for visits to the track. Of course I don't know if very many people would be willing to go through the trouble to do this.

Second best thing is to simply accept that better 60' times will call for a very stiff rear suspension (spring rates and damping - swaybars play a very small role in straight-line stability at the dragstrip), and a very stiff rear suspension will be terrible for ride quality. In which case ...

I'm not really too worried abouthow well she rides in the streets, I take it easy on her and just keep it slow for the most part unless some one wants to play then I will so since i am not too terribly worried about ride quality what would be my best options as far as decent quality stuff, keep in mind i anm in the military and in korea. Since we can't drive over here all I am doing is saving up money for my new set up and a lil work being done now

I'm actually talking about pretty high rates, on the order of ~1000lbs in the rear, and the rear only. That will be a huge imbalance of rates between front and rear, its not streetable at all, trust me.

Its good to drive safely on the street, but even the most safety-minded driver can get into trouble easily with a poorly setup car. Continue to save up while you do your research - it never hurts to be patient.

Yeah. You're not going to "track" your car in any iteration that requires a good suspension setup, so I suggest getting Koni Yellows and Eibach Springs with stock Integra spring rates. Follow that with a set of Suspension Techniques swaybars and you'll have all the handling you'd ever want for a street car without the damaging ride quality of anything stiffer.
