I had a b16 tranny on my LSvtec set-up its great for track use but if you have to drive a good distance the 5th gear sucks. You can swap out 5th for highway driving tho. Overall a great swap tho.

i did the b16 with ls, it was night and day, the best mod performance wise, i'd shell out the extra 300 for an itr tranny. 5th gear seems a little short but you get used to it.

B16 tranny has way shorter gearing than an LS, therefore has better acceleration.

the high cruising rpms make it bad for the highway. if you can deal with that, go for it.

The reason I thought it was "bad" for freeway driving was due to when I had an evo2 on.

4500revs + evo2 = quick loss of hearing

Yup,

AS said before try and get the final drive from your LS to save some gas.

I have a 2nd gen b16a2 tranny on my b18b LS with a light flywheel and CTR n1 crank pulley and the car pulls great. Ran a 15.0 in my coupe with a few things left undone so I should see a mid-high 14 on a stock b18b with b16 tranny.

All depends how you plan it out for the engine to put out the power. The b16 tranny is great and ontop if you find one with the factory lsd then it's very worth purchasing it
