How do you take apart a OEM headgasket to make it one layer?

 

whywould you want to do that??

 

bump compression? I tried doing it but those bronze rings keep them together..

 

pull it apart, but your not reusing one are you? get a new one and pull it apart.

 

or just get a thinner cometic head gasket.

 

i'm not reusing one. But i tried to pull apart a used one but it's held together by bronze rings..

i took a closer look at the headgasket..i probably got one of the newer ones where they put bronze rings on the headgasket to keep them together for easier installation.

 

cut out the ring and separate.

they are all like that

 

Just get a thinner one like mentioned above.

What would be the best tool to cut it out with?
