Default Copper o-ring question PLEASE HELP

When you remove the head off of a block that has copper o rings in it do you have to replace the o rings before you put the head back on?

Also Cometic gasket will be fine on the o rings right?

Thanks
Jonathan

Yes, you need to replace the o-ring. I don't know about cometic....I only run OEM.

You'd have to call Cometic about it, but in general, MLS gaskets should work with copper wire. Its fiberous gaskets that use stainless wire, and all-copper gaskets usually shouldn't be o-ringed.

TTT

Going to replace O rings....How do you get those damn things out. Heard of one guy very carefully drilling into the copper? Then you could get the pick tool in there and get em out. What's the best way to do this process

Also AEBS won't answer their phone. Have left messages. Still want more input on which gasket to use with the copper o rings or should i go with stainless o rings....
As of right now i have new cometic gasket.

Thanks for your input so far....

exactly. the Cometic MLS gaskets or OEM honda gaskets work..

to get the old o ring out, use a scratch awe and a hammer, tap the awe into the copper on a 45 degree angle it will buckle the copper, then you can pull it out with plyers. to install new copper wire, lightly tap the wire into the grove with the back of a screwdriver, or you can use a rubber mallet or dead blow hammer. get the ends tightly gapped, cut with normal wire cutters. be sure not to over lap or leave a huge gap where the ends meet
